JR is a graduate from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology and Business. He has experience in both the educational and nonprofit realms since 2012. Prior to UStrive for College he supported the accelerator, Global Social Business Incubator for Entrepreneurs.

JR was born and raised in the Bay Area where he currently resides with his wife and children. He has a passion for writing and producing music.
