Strive for College is now UStrive.org!

When Strive for College began in 2007, we were an in-person mentoring initiative that helped high school students navigate the college and financial aid application process. In 2013, we transitioned from an in-person model to a completely virtual mentoring model. This helped us reach more students – over 1.5 million across the US so far! In 2020, we grew again: we began offering mentoring support to college students, to help them stay in college, graduate, and prepare for their careers. We also began providing more support for individuals who choose a path other than college, such as a trade school or other specialized training, to prepare them for a self-sustaining career.

As our Founder and CEO, Michael Carter, said, “We wanted a new name that reflected our commitment to helping all individuals, not just those who attend college, strive for their dreams. We have always been about helping students find the best fit for them in terms of college, and now we’re doing the same thing for career exploration.”
